Hey there, I'm Jennifer. My friends call me Jenn and my mom calls me Jenni, but I'll answer to all three! Most days you can find me shaking my head at the life I've signed up for. I am the co-owner of Marigold Acres: a multigenerational homestead where oils flow and dogs and moms rule. You see, I have a unique living situation. My Hubs and I are building a barn with a living loft on 38 acres of land fondly known as Marigold Acres. The barn houses Hubs and I and our dog PJ, as well as my mom and mother-in-law and her two dogs Marcy and Issy. My daughter and her Hubs live in a park model trailer with their dog Cooper about 300 yards down the road. The three generations make up our happy little multigenerational homestead. All of this came to be because I saw a need with the moms. Both are doing ok right this minute but I could see that that would be changing and we needed a solution that would benefit everyone. Long-term Healthcare for the elderly is terrible and costly. I am convinced that I can do the same if not a better job. With all of us living together, we can provide family support, homegrown food and oily solutions to health needs that you can not find in a nursing facility.
People think I am a bit nuts for taking all this on but I can't think of a better way to serve than to take care of ones own. God, country, and family are the three things I am most passionate about and our homestead honors all three.
My venture into the oily life began just over a year ago and it has rocked our world. We have been able to find an oil solution for just about everything going on with us: food allergies, topical allergies, hormone balance issues, emotional ups and downs. It has lead us to look into better ways to clean too.
As I have researched for myself, I have been able to pass on information to friends and family who are looking for ways to improve their health, have more energy, clean with non-toxic products and improve life in the bedroom (yes...there are oils for that!) I feel so lucky to pass on what I have learned to someone who is really in need.
So when I am not busy with the moms, I like to garden. In the spring we will be planting a large veggie garden and starting a flock of chickens too. I can't wait to get to the point that we are more self sufficient. My goal is to cut down trips to the grocery store to 2 times a month.
I also like to sew but not clothing. I like to quilt, make bags, cloth napkins etc... There is something very calming about creating.
If you are dying to know more, here are 5 things you may not already know:

Add soda to jar (I use about 3-5 cups in a large jar with a wide opening) Add 2 caps of cleaner Add 10-15 drops of lemon oil Mix with wooden spoon until all cleaner and oils is incorporated Screw on lid and store in a dark cupboard or out of direct sunlight
To clean your shower, sprinkle 1/2 to 1 cup of scrub on bottom of shower. Moisten and let sit 10 minutes. Scrub with a brush or scrub sponge. Takes some elbow grease but smells amazing and you are cleaning with a whole family safe cleaner!
